The month of April is probably my favorite time of year. Cooler air begins to fade, spring blooms are bursting, and many of my loved ones celebrate their birthdays in the weeks ahead. Lucky are those who call April their birthday month, for the birthstone is the most cherished of all. The diamond.
Diamonds are the hardest of all precious gems and are made entirely of one element: carbon. Colored diamonds occur in nature when a trace element is present. The history of diamonds is chock full of tales consistent with themes of love, protection, and power.
I would be remiss if I did not reveal those dear to me who get to celebrate this month. The trifecta includes my husband and my “rock,” Tim; my amazing sister Vanessa (pictured right); and, last but not least, my sister-in-law Laura. Happiest of birthdays to a very fortunate few!
